Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:
Objective #1: explain the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and new/advancing treatment protocols for common pediatric hematologic and oncologic conditions, including leukemia and sickle cell disease.
Objective #2: discuss the administration of chemotherapy, managing side effects, and providing supportive care to pediatric patients, focusing on pain management, symptom relief, and psychosocial support.
Objective #3: explore strategies to effectively communicate with families, address emotional and psychological challenges, and foster a collaborative care environment to ensure the best outcomes for both the child and their family.
