Judith Ascenzi, DNP, RN

Dr. Judy Ascenzi, DNP, RN, is the Director of Pediatric Nursing Programs at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. She has dedicated her career to caring for acute and critically ill children. She began her career as a pediatric intensive care nurse at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. After several years in Philadelphia, she relocated to Baltimore and worked in the PICU at Johns Hopkins Children's Center from 1991-2018, where she had various clinical roles, including Nurse Residency Coordinator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Nurse Manager. Dr. Ascenzi's clinical interests include infection prevention, pediatric skin care, pediatric cardiovascular care, quality improvement, safety, exploring new care delivery models, evidence-based practice, nursing research, and pediatric delirium. For her career, Dr. Ascenzi has taught courses at the baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral levels of education at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
