This Transport Quarterly Skills session will focus on transport team skills related to regulatory practices, procedures, safety, and skills. Join the interprofessional transport team in the simulation lab to review Transport Medication Preparation and NCH Regulatory skills - Restraints, CPR. Additionally, learners will participate in a Mega Code Transport Simulation lead by the NCH Pediatric Intensive Care Department.

NCHDE CF Education Session- Social and Psychological Aspects and CF

This regularly scheduled series provides interprofessional clinicians the opportunity to attend a didactic session that discusses and analyzes the latest research, interesting cases, and evidence-based practices related to Cystic Fibrosis. 

Objectives:

  • Identify the unique challenges patients with Cystic Fibrosis encounter during a hospital admission.
  • Discuss strategies to support the psychosocial functioning of patients with Cystic Fibrosis.

      This presentation, jointly provided with the local chapter of APHON, reviews currently options for fertility preservation in oncology patients. Nurses will learn how to educate patients and families on this topic and how to make referrals.
      This presentation will focus on several types of penetrating injuries that present to the emergency department and discuss current American College of Surgeons standards regarding care of these types of injuries.
      Simulation-based learning affords the opportunity for participants to refine clinical practice skills in a safe, supportive learning environment.
      This is day 2 of a 2-day course. Nurses will delve deeper into their select project topic and learn ways to develop their project and plan for dissemination of results.
      This is day 1 of a 2-day course. Nurses will learn to apply the principles of EBP, research and Quality Improvement as they identify problems or gaps in patient care or patient management.
