NCHDE Rehab Education: Pediatric TBI: Utilizing the Rancho Los Amigos Scales

This regularly scheduled series provides nurses the opportunity to attend a didactic session that discusses and analyzes the latest research, interesting cases, and evidence-based practices related to the specialty care of rehab patients.

Objectives:

      1. Identify Rancho Los Amigos Scale levels and expected presentations 

      2. Describe interventions for caring for TBI patients through the cognitive recover process

      3. Recognize common ongoing cognitive deficits follow TBI

Join the Inpatient Rehab Unit’s discussion on transanal irrigation (TAI), a therapeutic approach designed to assist in the evacuation of feces from the bowel by introducing water into the rectum and colon via the anus. This procedure involves purpose-made device-assisted irrigation methods, several of which are commercially available.
