
The Ins and Outs of Penetrating Trauma

This presentation will focus on several types of penetrating injuries that present to the emergency department and discuss current American College of Surgeons standards regarding care of these types of injuries.

Registered Nurses and clinicians caring for emergencies.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate between activation levels according to American College of Surgeons guidelines.
- Verbalize the importance of identifying the proper location of penetrating wounds.
- Discuss indications for an emergency thoracotomy
