The Ripple Effects of Munchausen by Proxy Abuse
Virtual via Microsoft Teams
Although medical providers are good at identifying and recognizing Munchausen by Proxy Abuse (MBPA) cases, it is still extremely difficult to stop the train of abuse once it has started. Pediatricians, specialists, and hospitalists are in a unique position to witness the interactions between caregiver and patient, the presence or lack of signs and symptoms, and the response to interventions. This course will follow a case of MBPA that spanned years to take a journey through the many facets and impacts of these stories. Education provided will help pediatric medical professionals of all experience levels to learn the most up-to-date information about MBPA.
Target Audience
All pediatric health care team members, fellows, residents, and medical students.
