NAME Cohort 6 | Session 1 - Science of Learning & Intro to Capstone

Nemours Academy of Master Educators (NAME) is a ten-month interprofessional faculty development program that was designed to improve the formal training for medical educators who mentor and teach trainees. Clinicians and medical educators participating in this course will learn evidence-based tools and strategies to optimize teaching to a post-graduate medical audience. Upon completion of the NAME Program, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the evidence based cognitive psychology of learning.
  • Demonstrate their skill in a portfolio of teaching strategies.
  • Create an effective curriculum.

Target Audience

Interprofessional clinicians and medical educators of Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware interested in becoming familiar with tools and strategies to optimize teaching.

Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • Discuss and review the concepts of the science of learning.
  • Illustrate understanding of the key concepts of “Make It Stick: The Science of Successful Learning."

  • 3.50 MOC ABS – Surgery
    Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
  • 3.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit

    In support of improving patient care, Nemours Children’s Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
