Orthopedic Management of the Child with Cerebral Palsy

This three-day course will review all aspects of orthopedic management of the child with cerebral palsy, with a special focus on hip and gait pathology presented by the Nemours Children's Health team. 

Course Structure

  • Multiple short lectures will include comments and questions from attendees.
  • Multiple case presentations allow discussion of treatment options.
  • Course is limited to 30 attendees.
  • Attendees are encouraged to bring cases if they desire.

  • Managing hip dysplasia in the ambulatory patient

Gait Problems in CP

  • Natural history of gait pathology
  • Timing of gait treatments
  • Torsional malalignments
  • Crouch gait
  • Stiff knee gait
  • Diagnostic decision making Spasticity management for gait
