Online - Preventive Cardiology: Dyslipidemia, Hypertension, and Obesity
In 2021, the Nemours Cardiac Center at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware created a four-part review of pediatric cardiology designed for the primary care clinician.* This education has been developed as a series of enduring modules so that you may participate at your convenience.
This final module discusses current recommendations regarding pediatric hypertension, dyslipidemia and obesity. At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to apply uniform and improved adherence to current published guidelines regarding primary care management of common preventive cardiology problems.

Target Audience
Physicians and all Pediatric Primary Care providers.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- To review common causes of dyslipidemia in the pediatric population.
- To review current recommendations for lipid screening and management.
- Describe hypertension in pediatrics.
- Appropriately refer patients to sub-specialist.
- Identify cardiometabolic risk factors in their patients.
- Discuss vascular health implications of obesity.
