Florida Triage Course | February 2024
Join us for a half day of lecture, skills stations and simulation to improve your skills in patient assessment and sorting with the use of the pediatric triangle, care streams, and Emergency Severity Index tool. The course is specific to the triage standards developed by the Emergency Nursing Association, the Florida State Statutes that impact emergency care, and intended for emergency department registered nurses however, others may join as space permits.
This event is being held in-person at Nemours Children's Hospital Florida. Space is limited!
Target Audience
Emergency Department Registered Nurses in Florida
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:
Identify components of Triage and the role of communication in the process.
Recognize the impact of personal bias and cultural gaps on judgement during triage.
Implement direct visualization and re-assessment processes to prevent patient deterioration in the waiting area.
State methods used to prevent EMTALA violations.
Explain informed consent in the emergency department.
