Jackie Hunter, NMD, DC
Jackie Hunter, NMD, DC, who is the inaugural VP, Health Equity Strategies at the American Hospital Association. Jackie’s journey into health care evolved from delivering Chiropractic care and serving as an adjunct faculty member at a community college to becoming an advocate for change. She aims to demonstrate – for her children, for those she works alongside and for her communities – the need to embrace who we are and who others are, inclusive of differences and similarities. In all aspects of her work, Jackie seeks to connect with, inspire and empower those around her, helping them to become champions of a culture of belonging and agents of change. She has served as a mentor and sponsor for early and mid-careerists, leveraging her experience as a senior executive and holding other leadership positions.
Jackie has over 20 years of experience in strategy, innovation, and creating inaugural initiatives not only within the realm of diversity, equity and inclusion at large health systems such as Banner Health and in rural academic settings with the University of Vermont Health Network. As the former VP, Diversity and Inclusion for ACHE, she gained a wealth of knowledge regarding the association industry. Her lived experiences fueled her desire to help health care leaders and providers comprehend the interconnectedness of racial, generational, and geographic diversity, among other factors.
