Eric Sandler, MD
Dr. Eric Sandler is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Mayo School of Medicine, and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Nemours Children’s Health- Jacksonville. He also serves as medical Director of Neuro-Oncology and Vascular Malformations Programs at Nemours Children’s Health- Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville. Dr. Sandler has served on numerous boards and committees including the PDQ Supportive Care Editorial Committee of the NCI, The Governor’s Cancer Control and Research Advisory Board including his role as Chair of the Board from 2008 – 2009. He also served on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society-Florida Division where he held several positions throughout the years, including Chair of the Cancer Control Committee, Chairman of the Board and President as well as National Assembly delegate. He also has served in the Voting Body Steering Committee of the Children’s Oncology Group and recently completed his term as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Dr. Sandler has received the American Cancer Society St. George Medal and the Lane Adams award for his work in improving the quality of life for children with cancer. Dr. Sandler’s major areas of focus include comprehensive care for children with brain tumors and vascular malformations as well as improving quality of life for children with cancer.
Dr. Sandler has been an invited speaker at numerous local, national and international meetings, and has authored or co-authored over 70 peer reviewed manuscripts and 5 book chapters.
