Eliana Perrin, Eliana M. Perrin, MD, MPH, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor

Eliana M. Perrin, MD, MPH is a general pediatrician and the Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Primary Care and leads the Primary Care Consortium at Johns Hopkins University with appointments in the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and a joint appointment in the Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Fellowship Program-trained clinician investigator whose areas of research expertise are patient-oriented preventive care, health services research, and the prevention and treatment of pediatric obesity, pediatric injury, and chronic health problems. She has been the lead on numerous research grants. She was previously faculty at UNC (where she won the Hettleman award, the highest award for university scholarship) and Duke. She has had many previous leadership roles including as Division Chief of Primary Care Pediatrics at Duke where she oversaw 13 outpatient clinics and two newborn nurseries. Last year, she was awarded the Academic Pediatric Association’s Miller-Sarkin national award for mentoring. She has been a board-certified primary care pediatrician for nearly 25 years and has practiced mostly in outpatient settings but also in the pediatric emergency room, the newborn nursery, and the wards. Along with Dr. Amie Bettencourt, she leads High Five for P-5, a HRSA-funded program that supports pediatrics primary care clinics by embedding developmental and behavioral support for families with young children.
