Trista Perez Crawford, PhD

Dr. Trista Perez Crawford is a bilingual (Spanish/English) clinical psychologist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Center of Behavioral and Mental Health, where she serves in the Integrated Primary Care Clinic at Hughes Spalding Hospital. She is also an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Emory School of Medicine. Dr. Perez Crawford earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed both her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Children's Hospital Mercy Hospital Kansas City. Her clinical interests included the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents from historically underserved populations. She works with a broad spectrum of psychological concerns, including ADHD and disruptive behaviors, developmental disabilities, learning disorders, internalizing disorders and adjustment to chronic medical conditions.
She is particularly dedicated to improving access to behavioral health care for underserved communities. Dr. Perez Crawford led programming to expand early identification and intervention for children with suspected autism spectrum disorders and has implemented perinatal and caregiving screening initiatives, enhancing behavioral health support or caregivers of infants through adolescents. In her academic role, Dr. Perez Crawford provides training and supervision for psychology interns, psychology postdoctoral fellows, psychiatry fellows, medical residents and fellow and social workers in training. Her research interests center on increasing access to evidenced-based inventions for historically marginalized populations.
In terms of service, Dr. Perez Crawford in Co-Chair of Diversity for the Predoctoral Internship Program and serves of the faculty and staff Wellness Committee. She was a LEAD Fellow in 2019 and has served on the LEAD Planning Committee in since 2021. Dr. Perez Crawford has served on the SCCAP Diversity Committee as well the Clinical Child and Pediatric Psychology Training Council Diversity Committee. In addition, she serves as the chair APA Commission for Recognition of Specialties and Subspecialties in Professional Psychology.
