Sarah Arshad
Dr. Sarah H. Arshad studied Folklore & Mythology at Harvard University before getting her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She then completed a 5 year Triple Board training Program at UPMC, and is now board certified in pediatrics, adult and child psychiatry. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and works at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) as an emergency room and consult liaison psychiatrist, as well as a provider with a Pennsylvania pediatric access program (the Telephonic Psychiatric Consultation Service Program (TiPS) team), providing consultation to pediatricians. She also serves as director of DCAPBS Pediatric Education Program in Behavioral Health (PEP-BH).
Her academic interests including cultural psychiatry, mentorship, and mental health teaching and education, and she is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's (AACAP) Diversity & Culture Committee, Triple Board and Post Pediatric Portal Program Committee, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee.
