Joi Sessum, Joi Sessum, PhD
Dr. Joi Sessum is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Michigan Medicine. She completed her doctoral training program in school psychology at Michigan State University and completed her internship training at Michigan Medicine. Joi's clinical interests include supporting pediatric patients across a wide range of presenting concerns such as, mood, anxiety, behaviors related to ADHD and autism, disruptive behaviors, school difficulties, sleep, toileting, and picky eating. In addition, she also has specific experiences working with patients with diabetes and sickle cell disease. Joi's research interests include the investigation of innovative behavioral health interventions and models that support greater access to care for children and adolescents, with a particular interest on diverse and vulnerable populations. Joi is a native Detroiter and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 1 year old daughter, trying out new restaurants, and watching Lions football.
