Amie Bettencourt, PhD

Dr. Amie Bettencourt is a clinical child psychologist and Associate Professor in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences with joint faculty appointments in the Johns Hopkins Schools of Public Health and Nursing. She is Director of Training for the Chicago Parent Program, an evidence-based parent management training curriculum, and has trained nearly 600 individuals to implement CPP across the US. Her research focuses on identifying risk and protective factors associated with the development of disruptive behavior problems and evaluating efforts to integrate CPP into early education, school, and primary care settings. In addition, she is Director of Research and Evaluation for Maryland Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care (BHIPP) which is a multi-university partnership between Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland Baltimore, Salisbury University, and University of Maryland Eastern Shore, whose mission is to increase access to pediatric mental health services through workforce development of primary care, emergency medicine, and behavioral health providers. Clinically, Dr. Bettencourt’s focus is on using parenting interventions to treat disruptive behavior problems in children and adolescents.
