Mihir Thacker, MD
Born in Mumbai, India, Dr. Thacker completed his Medical school training as well as Orthopedic Residency at two of the most prestigious Medical schools in Mumbai- Seth G.S. Medical College and Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital. He furthered his training in the field of Pediatric Orthopedics at the National University Hospital in Singapore and then at the Hospital for Joint Diseases/NYU in New York and completed an additional fellowship at the Nemours-A.I duPont Hospital for Children. He then went onto complete a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Oncology (Tumors) from the University of Miami.
After completion of his advanced training, Dr. Thacker joined the Nemours-A.I.duPont Hospital for Children in 2005 and has been working there since and heads the Orthopedic Research fellowship. He is well recognized in the fields of Pediatric Orthopedics and Orthopedic Oncology both nationally and internationally. He has delivered multiple lectures and presentation at national and international meeting. He is very keen on improving orthopedic education worldwide and has served as the past Chair of The Pediatric Orthopedic Committee for SICOT and is a member of the POGO committee for POSNA. . He was named in Delaware Top Docs for the last several years. He was named Physician of the Year for 2018 at Nemours-A.I.duPont Hospital for Children. He has published several (>70) scientific peer-reviewed articles and written multiple book chapters. He is a member of several study groups (IPSG, SLIP, GHDR, etc) His interests include Musculoskeletal Oncology, Pediatric hip disorders, skeletal dysplasias, limb lengthening and deformity correction and use of innovative technology in orthopedics.
