Edward Mougey, PhD
Edward Mougey received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 1988 and subsequently completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland where he studied regulation of RNA polymerase I transcription and the mechanisms of pre-rRNA processing. From there, Dr. Mougey came to the Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville, where he is currently a Research Scientist. During his tenure at Nemours, Dr. Mougey has worked on a number of diverse projects including studying chondrocyte maturation and bone growth, the structure of the human ribosome, and the pharmacogenomics of asthma controller therapies. Currently, the focus of Dr. Mougey’s research is pharmacogenomics of gastrointestinal disorders, and he is actively working towards the development of a precision medicine approach for the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis.
