Tracie Herman, Doctorate in Ministry, Masters in Biblical and Theological Studies
I have been a chaplain for almost 10 years and have been here at Nemours for 5.5 of those years. Soon after joining Nemours, I was offered the Lead chaplain position and now am the supervisor of spiritual care as well. I lead the Bereavement Committee which focuses on improving our practices for end of life (before, during and after) for patients, families and associates. A big part of my heart is in the well-being of associates here at Nemours and often I can be found leading debriefs, doing one on one support for staff, inviting associates to attend events such as Nemours Remembers (to honor the kids that have died here) or our annual Donate Life event (to honor our organ donors and their families), or implementing new ideas for better and more targeted staff care. My biggest honor is being with and connecting with patients, families and associates in difficult times and making things just a little bit easier.
