Daniel Dirnberger, MD
Dr. Daniel R. Dirnberger, MD, is a board-certified neonatologist with over 24 years of experience in neonatology. He arrived at Nemours Children's Hospital Delaware in 2014 and is the Medical Director of Neonatology, Medical Director of Neonatal Transport, and Assoc Director of the Critical Care ECMO Program (in charge of neonatal and transport ECMO). Dr. Dirnberger completed his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1994, followed by a pediatrics residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio. Prior to Nemours, Dr. Dirnberger served 24 distinguished years as a neonatologist in the United States Air Force, developing a global reputation and expertise in neonatal critical care transport.
Dr. Dirnberger's areas of clinical expertise and research include Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), critical care transport, advanced therapies for respiratory failure, skeletal dysplasia, and complex care of the surgical neonate. He has multiple research publications and textbook chapters and is a recognized expert in neonatal ECMO and critical care transport.
