Domestic Violence | March 29, 2024
This domestic violence course is tailored for cross discipline healthcare professions and aims to equip learners with the necessary tools to address intimate partner violence as a health care issue. Basic knowledge and competencies required to recognize and respond to domestic violence will be reviewed. The content will cover prevalence, screening and assessment, and community resources for victims of domestic violence.

This course is recommended for RNs, MDs and other members of the healthcare team and has been approved for Florida mandatory license renewal continuing education.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe domestic violence and the impact on health care.
- Describe the incidence of domestic violence in the Orlando area and the laws related to domestic violence.
- Examine the role of the nurse in the identification and assessment of victims of domestic violence.
- Explain the resources that are available for domestic violence victims in Florida.
