G Luker
Ghena Luker became a certified law enforcement officer with the Orlando Police Department (OPD) in 2012. Prior to this, she was employed as a Regional Investigator with the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Children and as a Certified Child Protective Investigator with the Department of Children and Families, respectively.
Ghena received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree from the University of Central Florida in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
In 2017, Ghena Luker was assigned to the OPD Criminal Investigations Division Property section; tasked with investigating property crimes as well as assisting the Homicide Unit with death investigations. Since August 2018, Ghena accepted an assignment to the Special Victims Unit where she holds the rank of Corporal.
In 2016, Ghena became a Florida Department of Law Enforcement certified instructor and firearms instructor. In 2023, she became forensically trained in child interviews and has instructed in advanced law enforcement courses such as Adult Sex Crimes, Child Abuse Investigations, Child Sex Crimes, Forensic Interviewing, Basic Law Enforcement Recruit Academy in reference to sex crimes and child abuse trainings.
Since 2018, Ghena has conducted trainings with the Department of Children and Families and the Children’s Advocacy Center related to child abuse and sex crimes investigations along with training members of the Orange County Sexual Assault Response Team and the Victim Service Center on joint investigations with law enforcement. She also serves as a negotiator with the Crisis Negotiation Team, a member of the Crisis Intervention Team, Domestic Violence Response Team, the Recruiting Assistance Program, the Orange County Sexual Assault Response Team and the Orange County Child Abuse Death Review committee.
