Bereavement/Palliative Care Educational Retreat
This course reviews communication techniques, and supportive practices to assist families with end of life/palliative care needs.
Target Audience
Registered Nurses in the NICU
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify examples of clinical scenarios in which a challenging topic needs to be introduced and the role of the nurse.
- Understand the importance of appropriate introduction of difficult conversations and practice challenging conversations.
- Take away key, “default” phrases to use in difficult situations.
- Identify where to find resources/additional instruction for the making of keepsakes.
- Describe the PACT team to families and the services they can provide.
