Lauren Yarholar
Dr. Lauren M. Yarholar has joined the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery. She has been trained in pediatric and adult plastic surgery and specializes in Craniofacial surgery. She received her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She completed her Plastic Surgery training at Saint Louis University where she gained extensive experience in the treatment and management of pediatric plastic surgery and adult facial cosmetic surgery as well as facial trauma. She has further specialized in facial plastic surgery by being selected as New York University’s Craniofacial fellow from 2019 to 2020. Fellowship-trained in pediatric and adult craniofacial surgery. Recognizing that surgery is only a small part of the process, she is dedicated to transforming the lives of pediatric and adult patients with facial differences through a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. She specializes in the treatment and management of a broad range of facial issues including syndromic conditions involving the face, cleft care, craniosynostosis, orthognathic surgery, complex facial reconstruction, acute and secondary facial trauma, and facial cosmetic surgery. Research focused on improving outcomes in craniosynostosis repair, secondary facial trauma outcomes, and exploring the applications of 3D-printing in craniofacial surgery. Receiving national recognition for her research in craniofacial surgery, she has been selected to present at multiple conferences in plastic surgery including American Association of Plastic Surgeons, The American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, and American Society of Plastic Surgery.
