Brooks Keeshin, MD

Dr. Keeshin is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah, the Associate Vice Chair of Research in Child Mental Health at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and an Affiliated Researcher at Uppsala University. A child abuse pediatrician and child psychiatrist, he provides clinical care to children and adolescents with histories of child abuse and other traumatic experiences at Primary Children’s Center for Safe and Healthy Families. In addition, Dr. Keeshin directs Pediatric Integrated Post-trauma Services (PIPS), a SAMHSA funded center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network focused on empowering frontline pediatric providers to detect and respond to youth at risk for traumatic stress and suicide. Dr. Keeshin is the co-chair of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Child Maltreatment and Violence Committee and is a member of the AAP Council on Healthy Mental and Emotional Development Executive Committee.
