Microaffirmations in Perioperative Personnel

This jointly provided activity with the Wilmington Chapter of the Association of Perioperative Nurses will discuss microaffirmations as a transformative strategy to improve psychological safety in the perioperative environment.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • define the concepts of microaffirmations and identify at least three examples of micro affirming behaviors in their practice setting
  • discuss at least two practical strategies for incorporating microaffirmations into colleague or patient interactions
  • describe how microaffirmations influence psychological safety, team collaboration, as well as patient care in our work environment
