Jehan Elliott, MD, FAAP
Dr. Elliott is a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist with subspecialty expertise in pediatric cardiac anesthesia. She currently serves as an attending anesthesiologist at Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, Delaware, where she provides comprehensive perioperative care for children with complex medical and congenital conditions. Prior to her current role, Dr. Elliott held academic faculty appointments at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and Yale School of Medicine, where she practiced as a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist and contributed extensively to clinical care, education, and program development. Her work has included the development of institutional protocols in pediatric cardiac anesthesia, quality assurance leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration in cardiac intensive care and perioperative services.
Dr. Elliott earned her Doctor of Medicine from Rush Medical College in Chicago after completing a postbaccalaureate research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, followed by residency training in anesthesiology at Rush University Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Elliott is actively engaged in national professional societies, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Society for Pediatric Anesthesiology, and serves in leadership and committee roles focused on quality, safety, and education. She is also a contributor to national educational initiatives, including curriculum development for the Pediatric Anesthesiology Internet-Based Non-Technical Skills (PAINTS) program.
An accomplished educator, Dr. Elliott has delivered numerous invited lectures at national conferences, including the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and the Society for Pediatric Sedation. She is deeply committed to mentorship and has guided medical students and trainees in both clinical and research settings.
Her research focuses on improving perioperative outcomes in children with congenital heart disease, with particular interests in coagulation monitoring, transfusion strategies, and opioid-sparing pain management techniques. She has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented her work at national and international meetings.
Dr. Elliott is board-certified in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology and holds active medical licenses in multiple states. She remains dedicated to advancing pediatric perioperative care through clinical excellence, innovation, and education.
