As Director of Public Safety at Christiana, Mr. Wilhelm is responsible for the definition and execution of the Department’s Public Safety program.  He oversees the coordination of the security standards, policies and procedures with other departments, executives, and industry experts.  Most recently, Mr. Wilhelm implemented weapons screening strategies, visitor management and executive protection services. 

Mr. Wilhelm is a security expert in workplace prevention, security construction, physical security, investigations, corporate safety and security, risk mitigation, and healthcare and security budgeting.  

Prior to joining Christiana Care and Jefferson Health – Einstein Division in 2014, Mr. Wilhelm most recently served as the Executive Officer, Special Investigations Section at the New Jersey State Police Department from 2012-2014.  In this capacity, he was responsible for implementing sound business strategy and practices, together with managerial and policy making for the section, where he managed approximately 400 uniformed troopers and civilian personal. 

During his 25 years with the New Jersey State Police, he forged productive alliances with county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.   He is the recipient of New Jersey State Police Certificate of Commendation 2001, 2002, 2007, and 2009; Maryland State Police Certificate of Valor 1993; Camden County Prosecutors Office Letter of Commendation 2002; Camden Police Department Commendation of Merit 2002; Pennsylvania Auto Crime Investigators Association Anthony M. Kane Award 2005; Burlington County 200 Club Award 2006; Morris County 200 Club Award 2006; and Letter of Commendation Drinking Driving Program 1991.  In addition he was nominated for the New Jersey State Police Trooper of the Year Award on two occasions.
