Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine trained physician with a strong leadership background in patient safety initiative development within the acute care and ambulatory settings. Serving multiple years as Vice Chair of Department of Emergency Medicine, previously academic faculty mentoring residents and attending physicians in evidence-based patient safety practices. As Ambulatory Clinical Effectiveness Officer, co-designed and engaged in leading the implementation of an evidence-based Ambulatory Patient Safety Program, actively building and recruiting an Ambulatory Clinical Safety Champion program, and co-designed and led a system-wide initiative implementing a shorter electronic internal incident reporting form to decrease event submission time. Adept at ensuring compliance to regulatory and accreditation standards and co-chair the organization’s Ambulatory Safety Committee. Physician lead on root cause analysis and intensive review teams for sentinel events and CANDOR events in the ambulatory and acute care environments. Team member recipient of multiple ChristianaCare Way Awards. Previous publications in the area of cardiac telemetry, Sepsis, Antibiotic Stewardship as well as an author in Atlas of Clinical Emergency Medicine Procedures as well as the EMRA antibiotic guide and EMRA Urgent Care Guide. Team leader and recipient of 2024 Christiana Care Way Awards: Operational Improvement Silver Award, “We Can’t Fix It If We Don’t Know About It: Increasing Reporting in Patient Safety” and Operational Improvement Bronze Award, “Patient Safety is Patient Care: Bringing an EBM Patient Safety Program to Ambulatory.” Featured lecturer at ECRI and the ISMP PSO Annual Meeting 2024 and RLDatix World Health Summit 2025 on “Patient Safety is Patient Care: Brining an Evidence-Based Patient Safety Program to Ambulatory.” Winner of the Patient Commitment Award for the RLDatix Awards 2025. Poster presenter at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Forum 2024 on “We Can’t Fix It If We Don’t Know About It: Increasing Event Reporting with a Quick Submit Form.”
