Dr. Jennifer Shepherd, DNP, MHA, RN, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, FAAN, is a nationally and internationally recognized nursing leader advancing workforce development, professional wellbeing, and the integration of technology into nursing practice. As Director of Nursing Practice, Work Environment, and Healthy Nurse Healthy Nation at the American Nurses Association, she leads efforts to embed AI into nursing practice and education, equipping nurses to thrive in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

Dr. Shepherd holds multiple specialty certifications and serves in leadership roles with the Virginia Nurses Association, Capella University, and Marymount University. She recently completed Harvard Medical School’s AI in Health Care program and earned credentials from Wharton in Business in the Metaverse Economy.

In 2025, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). In December, she will be appointed as a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FFNMRCSI). Her thought leadership bridges nursing innovation, workforce sustainability, and global engagement.
