Professional Biography
Joana Dacudag-Lapinid, MSN, RN IV, PCCN, is an accomplished registered nurse with over 32 years of progressive clinical and leadership experience across medical-surgical, cardiac telemetry, trauma, and post-surgical care. Currently serving as an RN IV in the Transitional Surgical Unit at ChristianaCare Health System, she exemplifies excellence in evidence-based practice, patient safety, and staff mentorship. A nationally certified Progressive Care (PCCN) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) nurse, Joana has been instrumental in advancing ChristianaCare’s nursing excellence through her leadership as Chair of the Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice Council (2023–2024) and as a long-standing WISH (We Improve Seniors Health) Champion. Her efforts in promoting Age-Friendly 4Ms care, delirium prevention, and alarm fatigue reduction have significantly improved patient outcomes and staff engagement. Joana’s commitment to clinical advancement was recognized with multiple honors, including Delaware Today’s Top Nurses (2025), ChristianaCare’s Excellence in Nursing Award (2024), and promotion to RN IV (Career Advancement of RN Excellence – CARE, 2024). Her leadership in quality and safety earned her team the AACN Silver Beacon Unit Award and Zero Harm designations for fall and CLABSI prevention. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing, Leadership concentration, from Wilmington University (2019) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emilio Aguinaldo College, Philippines (1993). Throughout her career, Joana has demonstrated unwavering dedication to professional growth, clinical education, and community service — including contributions to the American Heart Association, Red Cross, and Stop the Bleed programs.
