Susan is Vice President of Nursing Quality and Safety at ChristianaCare with over 34 years of experience in healthcare Quality and Safety.  She had previous clinical nursing experience in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care and Post Anesthesia Care Units. In her current role, she provides strategic direction for nursing quality and safety initiatives and leads systemwide performance improvement teams.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a master’s degree in healthcare administration and an ANCC Advanced Nursing Leadership Certification.  She has been certified in Healthcare Quality since 1992, certified in Patient Safety since 2023 and obtained Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from the Juran Institute since 2015.  She has presented and published nationally on various healthcare quality related topics.
