Maria Carmen G. Diaz, MD, FAAP, FACEP is the Medical Director of Simulation, Nemours Institute for Clinical Excellence.  She is also an attending physician in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and is the chair of the Emergency Medical Services for Children Advisory Committee for the State of Delaware.  She is the author of several peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters and has lectured nationally and internationally in the fields of simulation and pediatric emergency medicine.  She holds a dual academic appointment at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University as a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine.  Dr. Diaz is the 2017 recipient of the American Academy of Pediatrics Technological Innovations in Pediatric Emergency Medicine Award in recognition of how she has used simulation to advance the field of pediatric emergency medicine.
