Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to
- Analyze the impact of historical and systemic factors on racial disparities in breastfeeding in the USA
- Describe new forms of predatory formula marketing online
- Develop a critical thinking approach to identify the root cause of complex feeding situations
- Describe the physiological and clinical impact of common maternal medical issues on maternal health and lactation during the 4th trimester
- Discuss the potential benefits of baby wearing on maternal mental health, infant bonding and lactation
- Identify common breast issues in lactation, including engorgement, clogged ducts, mastitis, and nipple pain, and understand their impact on breastfeeding.
