Christine Koshel
My name is Christine Koshel and I am a pediatric intensivist at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL. I received my undergraduate degrees in Biology and Philosophy from the University of Scranton, and completed medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. My postgraduate training began with a transitional rotating osteopathic internship, followed by pediatric residency training at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in NJ. Then, I completed my fellowship training in pediatric critical care at Oishei Children's Hospital - SUNY Buffalo in Buffalo, NY, after which I was hired by Nemours. My interests apart from clinical care of critically ill children in the PICU, revolves around clinical and translational research. My primary research interests are coagulopathy in critical illness, hematology, and onco-critical care, as well as social determinants of health in medically complex children. I have several ongoing projects, have presented several abstracts at national conferences, and have publications. I also serve as the research mentor for one of our pediatric residents, and have mentored undergraduate students in this capacity as well. Additionally, I am broadening my horizons by pursuing my MPH at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In my free time I enjoy reading, outdoor activities, tennis, and enjoying time with family and friends.
