
Pilonidal Disease: Its in Your Office! Current Surgical and Non-surgical Treatment Options
This educational session is designed for APPs seeking to deepen their clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of pilonidal disease. The program will explore the underlying pathophysiology of the condition, highlight patient risk factors, and provide guidance on appropriate referral.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:
- Define the pathophysiology of pilonidal disease.
- Describe the patient demographics and characteristics most associated with pilonidal disease.
- Identify indications for referral to ED versus outpatient surgery clinic.
- Discuss the most up to date, evidence-based non-surgical management considerations for the treatment of pilonidal disease.
- Review the indications for pilonidal surgery as well as the most common surgical techniques in children.
