Ortho Education Seminar Spring 2024

This course focuses on pediatric orthopedic patients and the care that is involved. Speakers from various specialties provide a didactic lecture that serves as an overview, along with some specific details catered to the care of this population. There is time allotted for a discussion and question/answer session with a Nemours Orthopedic Advanced Practice Nurse for the learners to obtain clarity on patients or situations they have encountered during their time at the bedside.

Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • Summarize the standard of care for a posterior spinal fusion patient.
  • Identify three dressings used by wound care to promote healing
  • Discuss the care of a halo traction patient
  • Define cerebral palsy
