Online - Spotlight on Residents’ Research

This program was captured at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware Pediatric Grand Rounds on May 29, 2024. Pediatric Grand Rounds (PGR) is designed to improve the broad practice of pediatric medicine. In effort to foster curiosity and discussion surrounding concepts related to children's health, this regularly scheduled series presents a wide variety of topics with a diverse speaker panel for interprofessional clinicians.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Explain lipid trends in transmasculine adolescents and how new guidelines can be created.
  • Review global medical education initiatives.
  • Appreciate cultural and resource-dependent differences in disease management.
  • Describe the difference between visual acuity screening and instrument-based screening.
  • Acknowledge disparities in rates of vision screening for children with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Review research including background, methods, and results.
  • Evaluate the results and future steps going forward.
  • Recognize clinical signs and symptoms of massive pericardial effusions in oncology patients.
  • Define the prognosis of oncology patients who develop massive pericardial effusions.
