Online: Myth Busters - Things We Do for No Good Reason
Syed Arshad Ali, MD; Elizabeth Donner, MD; Gift Kopsombut , MD; and Magdalena Struk, MD from the Division of Hospitalist Medicine at Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida discuss value-based care in the inpatient setting and bust treatment myths involving common problems and diagnoses. As a result of this activity, participants will be able to encourage conversations between physicians and patients about the appropriate use of medical tests and procedures, with the goal of promoting wise choices by clinicians to improve health outcomes. In addition, participants will be able to provide patient-centered care that avoids unnecessary, repetitive, and even harmful interventions. This program was captured at Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida Pediatric Grand Rounds on April 5, 2023.

Syed Arshad Ali, MD is a full time Hospitalist. He is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. He is also fellowship trained in Pediatric Critical Care. He holds faculty appointment as Associate Professor at University of Central Florida and serves as the Medical Director of short stay unit at Nemours Children's Hospital.
