Online - Evaluation and Management of Chronic Dizziness and Near-fainting

Sean Connolly, DO, Katherine Salamon, PhD, and Catherine Soprano, MD of the Integrated Pain and Wellness Clinic discuss outcomes related to diagnosis of POTS and other chronic dizziness in adolescents. This lecture was captured during Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware Lunchtime Pediatrics on March 13, 2025.

Target Audience

Resident Physicians and all Pediatric Primary Care providers.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the pathophysiology of autonomic dysfunction and how it causes the symptoms of dizziness and near fainting.
  • Discuss the treatment approach including utilizing the biopsychosocial model for patient with dizziness and near fainting.

Practice Change

Refer patients to Cardiology and to the Integrated Pain and Wellness Program for treatment of
dysautonomia.
