This presentation explores the field of nutritional psychiatry and how clinicians can utilize dietary coaching to positively impact a range of mental health conditions in children.  Implications for promoting good mental health in people of all ages are also addressed.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the field of Nutritional Psychiatry
  • Understand the current research on the effects of diet on mood, anxiety, and ADHD symptoms in adults and children
  • Describe the biological pathways involved in how diet and nutrients affect mental health
