Neurofibromatosis

Neurofibromatosis is a group of genetic disorders that causes tumors to grow on nerve tissue throughout the body.
This is a rare disorder which has has different types, along with different treatments that nurses need to be aware of. 

Target Audience

Registered Nurses who care for hematology/oncology patients 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • differentiate between the different types of neurofibromatosis.
  • outline management and treatment strategies.
  • address psychosocial and educational challenges.
