NCHFL Mastering IO Insertion: A Lifesaving Skill for ED Nurses and Paramedics | October 2024
This one-hour workshop equips ED nurses and paramedics with essential skills for performing intraosseous (IO) insertions, a critical technique in emergency situations. Participants will learn the indications, contraindications, and proper techniques through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice. By the end of the session, attendees will feel confident in their ability to effectively utilize IO access to enhance patient care.
Target Audience
NCHFL ED Nurses and ED Paramedics; Others welcomed as space permits.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to demonstrate the proper insertion of intraosseous insertion.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will understand the importance of not delaying intraosseous insertion on critically ill patients.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to demonstrate the correct anatomic site for intraosseous insertion on pediatric and adult critically ill patients.
