This preceptor workshop prepares experienced cardiac nurses to effectively orient and mentor new cardiac nurses. The program emphasizes structured onboarding, adult learning principles, and supportive mentorship strategies to promote clinical competence, confidence, and successful transition into cardiac nursing practice.

- Define the role and responsibilities of a clinical preceptor within the organization and department.
- Describe how the preceptor supports onboarding, competency development and socialization of new nurses.
- Demonstrate effective communication strategies for giving clear instructions, expectations and feedback.
