This course provides emergency nurses with an overview of caring for a patient with burns . The intention is to increase knowledge and confidence with assessment, intervention, and in providing evidence based quality care to these patients.

- differentiate the pathophysiologic response to burn injury in the adult and pediatric population
- describe factors that determine and influence severity of burn injury and apply that information to accurately triage those patients
