Simulation-based learning affords the opportunity for participants to refine clinical practice skills in a safe, supportive learning environment.
Target Audience
Critical Care Transport Team nurses, paramedics, Respiratory Therapists and EMT's
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:
Objective #1: Early recognition and medical management with Alprostadil in a patient with a ductal-dependent congenital heart defect.
Objective #2: Review the overall management of a trifurcated NICU medication line initiated by the outside hospital.
Objective #3: Reinforce best practice recommendations for drawing up fluids/medications/TPN into syringe tubing for safe patient transport. Review handout provided to guide discussion.
Objective #4: Review best practice recommendations for clinicians in Critical Care Transport to reduce infection risks (CLABSI) in a vulnerable NICU population. Review handout provided to guide discussion.
