Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:
- Describe the pathophysiology of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA)
- Discuss the mechanism of action and potential adverse effects of pharmacologic therapies in the treatment of BPD and PDA
- Evaluate and compare the evidence supporting the use of corticosteroids in both the prevention and treatment of BPD
- Critically compare and interpret current literature regarding the use of pharmacologic agents for the closure of PDAs
