CFL BHH 2026 | Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD): Common Yet Invisible

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) are common but frequently overlooked. This session from the Central Florida Behavioral Health Hub will help participants recognize FASD across the spectrum, challenge common misconceptions, and implement universal screening for prenatal alcohol exposure to improve early identification, diagnosis, and management in clinical practice.

This training will be hosted virtually via Microsoft Teams. The meeting link will be emailed to registered attendees.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • Challenge common misconceptions about FASD and recognize it as a prevalent yet underrecognized condition.
  • Screen universally for prenatal alcohol exposure to improve identification of affected children.
  • Diagnose FASD across the spectrum, including children without classic facial features or intellectual disability.
  • Recognize and manage the neurobehavioral manifestations of FAS and ND-PAE in everyday practice.
