Advanced Practice Providers | Neonatal & Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Practice
This immersive program introduces Advanced Practice Providers to neonatal intensive care and cardiac critical care practice at Nemours Children’s Health. Participants will explore the APP role, leadership structure, professional development opportunities, and specialty-specific care considerations through focused lectures, networking, tours, and hands-on skills stations. Learning activities include neonatal nutrition, pediatric heart failure, airway management, point-of-care ultrasound, and mechanical ventilation strategies, with opportunities to engage with current CICU and NICU APPs and experience the culture of advanced practice at Nemours.
Target Audience
Advance Practice Providers interested in exploring the subspecialties of Neonatal and Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Units.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:
- Describe the role of the CICU and NICU APP at Nemours Children's Health.
- Discuss APP governance, onboarding, and professional practice expectations in the organization.
- Engage in specialty-specific didactic and simulation activities aligned with neonatal and cardiac intensive care practice.
